Nearly the same here, 60th wedding anniversary in a few weeks.

Last week my father called me on the phone, something he never does but now he did, and he scared the hell out of me when he said my mom had contracted covid-19 and was running a high fever, even though she had the two jabs and the booster. Thanks again everyone.  This is not an easy time, but today we may be bringing Mom home.  She has been cremated, and we have a nice urn for her with a hummingbird on it.  She absolutely loved hummingbirds and the property here has so many bird feeders of different types because they both loved watching birds.

If all goes well, Mom will be back home today, and we can all be a bit more at peace.

I'll be staying here next week as well (I have some vacation time and bereavement time) so I can spend lots of time with my father.

Thanks guys.  It's almost been a month now.  It's not any easier, but it is different.

As I said though, I have been, and continue to be quite lucky for having them both so long, and for still having my father.
