This has been a enlightening experience.  While there wasn't a lot I wanted to keep, there sure are a lot of interesting things in there...  :D  It was neat just to see and handle things I would never have if they hadn't been in the box.

It is packed up with a few of my items and headed to the PO now to embark on its journey back to NC.




These are the items I kept:

Camo paracord - because I've been making a lot of lanyards lately and this is a color that I've not used.  It should look great on my orange G10 Safari Hunter.
Kershaw Shuffle - because I tend to buy larger knives, and this one is truly handy for many tasks I don't need a large blade for, which is most things honestly.
91mm plus scales - because I refurbish a lot of used SAKs to give away to people, and these are in great, broken-in shape
Sharpie pen - because I always seem to have standard sharpies around and often I want one with a finer tip.  This fits the bill!

Thanks to all who donated these items to the GAW!!

     I love getting the city-by-city update, don't you?  I think St. Louis is where they stand around the warehouse and throw machetes at the packages.  At least that looks like what they did with the box last time...?   I don't know how many people read this Break Room section, but I would encourage SOMEONE to sign on to take the box after Adam5.  No sense in this lovely box of nice things sitting around under his bed waiting for the next leg of its travels.

    One semi-honest multi-tooler type who needs to do hard work.
    Duties are to sign up to be the next recipient of a ten pound box
     of FREE pocket knives, tools, etc.  Lots of good etc. items too.  Apply within.

Seriously what do you need?  You need to sign up and say, "Yes send me the box."  Send a personal message to the current recipient and give him your mailing address.  He will ship.
Look it over.  Keep some stuff.  Put something else back to take its place if you want.  Box it back up. Take it to the Post Office.  Costs $17.10 to ship a medium flat rate box.  The Post Office has these boxes for free in racks.  Also labels.  All free.  You will need a roll of shipping tape. I bought mine at Dollar Tree.  Might get by using the old box if it is sturdy.  Ship it to the next recipient.  Make a post on Break Room section showing what you kept.  Tell why if you like.  Don't say what was in the box, or what you left.  That's it.  Free stuff.  Sign up.

I spent 30 to 45 minutes going through the contents of the box, and I decide to keep these items:



1) A Klein pocketknife made by Utica. I already have one, but I am a Klein collector and I also like to spend time working on used pocketknives that need a little love.

2) Reclaimed a pair of Klein bit drivers that I put in the box the last time I had it. I am in need of them now  :D

3) A couple of keychain tools that are unlike any I already own

4) Buck 363 that may replace a Case Mini Blackhorn that I carry in my wallet.

5) Not pictured is a mechanical pencil that uses 0.7 mm lead. I lost the one I use at work recently.

I would like to point out to anyone reading this thread and thinking about possibly signing up to receive the box that there is a ton of stuff in this box. And being a man who is looking to downsize my collection of multitools, I wasn't shy about adding to the box.

The rules of the game prevent me from stating what I saw in the box and what I added to the box. But I can say that you are likely to find some things you will want to keep. All you have to do is sign up and muster up the the required postage when it is time to send it on to someone else. As far as adding to the box goes, which I think may be a reason why some are hesistant to join in, no one will look down upon you if you only put in an item or two. Besides, we have so much in the box now no one even know  ;).

Cool!  Nice photo too.  Now Adam doesn't have anybody to ship it to.  There is no waiting.  I'm sure he is ready to put YOUR name and address on the box and you could be slicing off the tape within 4 days or so.  US only.  Can't ship overseas or to Canada because of laws and paying duty.  But anywhere in US.  What do you have to lose?  I can't recall that anybody has received the box and not taken something.  Play the game.  I got my first Leatherman through this Mystery Box.  We need to keep this box in motion for it to be any fun.  Best wishes and congrats to Adam5.  G

I just used a very similar keychain screwdriver (mine has red plastic heads) the other day. A little big for actual keychain carry, but I leave them in my desk at work and use them once every month or two.
