Pennsylvania repeals ban on automatic knives
on: November 06, 2022, 07:27:23 AM
https://www.akti.org/news/pennsylvania-to-be-the-45th-state-that-allows-automatic-knives/

It goes into effect on 2 January 2023. I would bet Case, and maybe some other cutlers, will soon be trotting out new lines of automatics.

It’s always nice to see pointless anti-knife laws fall, and I’m also looking forward to having the option of purchasing and carrying automatics.

Finally, it is worth remembering that PA still does not have knife law preemption, leaving cities and other localities free to enact more restrictive laws than what the commonwealth has as a whole.   Philadelphia in particular has a particularly broad anti-knife law that could be interpreted to essentially ban the carrying of just about any knife.

:tu: for those in Pennsylvania.  While each city can and usually does have more restrictive laws its a step in the right direction.

Michigan.did the opposite not too long ago: the governor vetoed a positive knife law (statewide preemption). I could go on about why I'm a big advocate for statewide preemption, but not right now.
