Compact Dark Wave Limted Edition
on: July 22, 2024, 03:54:23 AM
I was tempted to get one but I don't like the printed shield or the $100 price. The best thing on it is the black plastic end on the ball point pen instead of gray. I also don't like the mini black phillips screwdriver on it. Too much about it I didn't like and I wanted to like it because I love Compact's. I like my regular black Compact better that I put a black toothpick and black tweezers in. I have been considering to make the mini screwdriver and pen black myself. Being that it's from Victorinox there will plenty of apologists here on this forum as usual but not me. I will stick with this Compact that I find to be sexier

I love Compacts. Pretty much all I carry now, but I’m vegan and it comes with a leather sheath. Too bad.

Also, where is it even available?

I don't even see it offered for sale anywhere in the US, unless I'm missing something?  I'm on Victorinox's mailing list but I don't recall ever seeing a mention of this new model.

I see it on the Vic site in Mexico. I wonder if it is not available in the US. Shows as 2024 Limited Edition.

This website looks like it will delivery to the US and other countries.  I selected FedEx shipping to Texas and it looks like it would be $140.76 shipped with any other applicable fees.  However, currently they appear to be sold out.

First I heard of this - So had a quick look

I like it -     :tu:    :tu:    :tu:   The scales pattern and blade etching are really nice
The black tipped detachable tools are great
And of course the Compact is an awesome model

@Swisster - So does expressing a like for a new Victorinox model make me an apologist?    ???
..... Well if you say so
... Or maybe it's not agreeing with you, on your preference for a regular black scaled Compact ?     ???

Will I be buying one - Probably not

would love to have a fully blacked out Compact like the Spartan Onyx edition is. To me that would be super sexy and I would pay $100 for that quickly. I would probably buy 2 or 3 of them so I could carry it as an EDC and not be concerned about ever losing it. Compact is probably my favorite 91mm and I even had a black Yeoman and didn't like and found it to be to bulky and the third layer to be unuseful because I always have my black SwissCard Lite on me in my ejector wallet. I don't know which is more over hyped and under delivers as the Yeoman or the Voyageur. I had both and sold them because neither could hold a candle to a Compact and they are readily available. Rarity and scarcity means nothing to me and the hype of some retired over hyped models is ridiculous. I keep trying many other 91mm models and still keep coming back to the Compact. For me I could make due with 3 models of SAK's. Compact, Alox Electrician and pre 1993 Alox Soldier's. That's my 2 Cents on Compact's
