Very cheap yes.... might be something to do with the fact that as of yesterday you need to prove your age with credit card details in order to bid on a knife.

That's all well and bloody good but I was already bidding (low) on a couple of things and now cannot continue as I only have a debit card and they won't accept it. To say I'm pissed off is putting it lightly.
 >:(

You'd think the idiots would let current auctions run without changing the rules - hugely unfair on  sellers too.

So, who's gonna sell me a Charge now eh?! *hint*

Whilst I was reading the reaction to the Watchdog hyped ban on the ebay message boards the other night, there was a post from a knife seller about that credit card rule and when it was introduced.

Basically, when they brought it in a few months ago, they gave no warning at all, so people started bidding on knives, and then all of a sudden they couldn't as they didn't have a card on file. I'm sure that all collectors on here that use ebay do the same as me, and only bid in the last few seconds of an auction to avoid a bidding war with other buyers. Well, if you do that and your card isn't on file, you lose. This particular seller was saying that all of his stock went for about 10% of it's expected value, and he also had to suffer the queries and abuse from unsuccessful buyers. They were given no warning whatsoever.

That is frankly incredible in my eyes, even disgraceful.
I used to come here a lot.

I won a Handyman that way.  I had put in a low bid on the off chance i might win (I do this a lot).  Whilst talking to the seller he told me he had had a couple of late bidders send him some angry mails after missing the end of the auction.  Why they were giving him abuse I don't know.  ::)

I won an old Popular like that tonight.  One of the guys on SOSAK had his eye on it and PMd me before the end of the auction to see if I was after it.  I told him what I'd already put on it and as he was willing to go higher I said I'd leave it for him.  So I was surprised when I won it, it transpires he had tried to put his bid in right at the end and hit the credit card verification.

I wonder how many sellers are getting really messed up by this  >:(

I feel sorry for the sellers and the buyers :(

Seems like both are getting the short end of the stick :pok:

Looks like they would have sent an email telling everyone of this a month ahead of time :twak:

Man this just keeps getting worse guys :ahhh
