Picked up at a local estate sale. The surface rust has been eliminated.  This is a more recent version made in China.

I know there are a few bench vises at work. When I get a chance, I'll check them out in detail, especially since I'll be able to use the help of a vise before too long. Nice find! :tu:

Mine's the 3.5"--US Made.  Was Great-Granddad's when new,  spent many years in a 55 gal drum of scrap metal and junk tools in the basement (of which all three "tools" are now  in heavy use--a Williams 1 1/4" Spud wrench, P&C-rebrand True Temper carpenter's  axe, and the vise)

One jaw pad is worn down, the other missing (with reamed holes where it once went--so I'm confused on how to fix it), but it's in use now as my hobby vise. For what I do, the lid to a foam  cooler is all it needs to be used--plus it helps to wrangle small parts. Most of the stuff I do on it is so light duty, I have no need to mount it. I most often just clamp a pair of  plastic hemostats in the jaws to use it  as a helping hand-type tool.

I fixed my old glasses a couple weeks back with it.

As I've understood on other forums, Columbian was bought by Wilton, and became a budget brand as opposed to a company.
