Casio in movie Burglar
on: December 18, 2024, 06:37:00 PM
Don't know if this is a good movie or not.  I clicked on another movie and this one came up instead.  I watched a couple of minutes and saw a Casio.  Don't know the model.  Best wishes.  G

I also can't say if the movie is good or bad...or which of the "Burglar" movies listed on IMDB it might be. The Casio looks like a "Square." Red buttons and "G-Shock D" are probably the main diagnostic characteristics. I'll search Shockbase and attempt to determine which model it is.

I rather liked the looks of the Casio.  The movie was Burglar (1987).  It wouldn't take much for me to fall into the Casio watch rabbit hole.  Best wishes.  G

The 1987 release date was massively helpful in narrowing it down. We're looking at a Casio DW-5500C-1. And it is marked "G-Shock II," not "G-Shock D."

The G-Shock rabbit hole is a rather extensive one. Fortunately for me, I am pretty selective. Black, negative display, illumination and timekeeping functions only, and no rechargeable batteries at all are the sort I like.

Bravo.  That's the watch.  My favorite part is the red buttons.  Frivolous, I know.  Looks like pretty basic functions on that one.  The owner in the movie was going out for his morning run and set the watch to time his exercise.  Best wishes.  G

Yes, it's pretty basic. I have to wonder how many remain around. I haven't checked to see if any are floating around in the Bay.
