I watched part of this movie. The young man is throwing together his kit to do a wilderness thing. He reaches up on a high shelf for his SAK and feels around for it but doesn't take it with him. I think this thing was based on a book. Might have been a true story. I read about either the book or actual events in Outdoor?
SwissChamp sounds like a good guess to me. What do I know? At any rate, the SAK got left at home. Sounds like a bad beginning to me. Best wishes. G

It was a true story, and an excellent example of why you shouldn't:
1- Go into the wilderness alone.
2- Not tell people where you are going and when you will be back.
3- Do stupid things and taunt Mother Nature.
4- Carry knockoffs.
As the story goes, he used a knockoff Leatherman to chop off his arm. Honestly, I would very much appreciate never being in this situation in my life, but if I ever was, I think I would rather have a proper SAK as I think the thinner, sharper blade would do a better job than the thick blade of a Leatherman, and the (probably) cheap steel of a knockoff that likely can't hold that good of an edge.
