  I was going to buy this one from this seller but a few things turned me off.
1. 75% positive seller score, which means a 1/4 of the people he has sold to were less than pleased with him or her.
2. If you read the negatives there are several complaints of the buyer getting something other than what the seller was advertising.
3. I sent him or her an email asking him if they could confirm that the item pictured was infact the item that was for sale, and I never got a response.
  I would not recommend purchasing from such an indivisual.

If you look more closely at his feedback, it's 75% for the last 12 months, but he has 1930 feedback for all time.

In other words, he's done 5 sales in 12 months, with 1 negative and 1 neutral feedback. Reading the feedback comments, it appears that the first two of these he sold, he described as Powerlocks, not PPPs. They all got SOG tools, but looks like he didn't know exactly what he was selling.

I'd buy off him, but maybe would just wait for confirmation of which tool you'll get first. He certainly doesn't look dishonest.

  That's just it though, he didn't give conformation. And if I want a sog ppp a powerlock isn't going to make me happy. And you may think that for only 30 bucks you're going to get a sog anyway, which is a good deal. But you might get a gerber, which is also conveniently placed in the title. I might not get to upset if I get a powerlock but I'd be fuming if I got a gerber when I was expecting a sog.
 And I don't think a guy with 75% cares to much about negative feedback.

Well of course you might be right, but I just wonder if your judging harshly based on 1 negative feedback out of 1300+ transactions.

Overall, his percentage would be 99.95%, he just hasn't sold much in the last 12 months. The 75% statistic is a bit misleading. The feedback doesn't suggest that he's ever got the brand wrong either, just the model, which sounds like an understandable thing to do.

As I say you might be right, but I wouldn't be out-off from dealing with him myself based what appears to be an honest mistake. Particularly when PayPal guarantees my money back, and 1930 people have been quite happy with him.

I'm not saying you should either, just giving my opinion.

That's still out of 1945 trades though.

As I said, the guy may be a sheister of the first order, but I would never be put off by a few negative feedbacks points out of that many, and the reason why is down to my personal experience.

I rarely sell anthing at all on ebay these days, but there was a time when I was selling quite a bit. The more transactions you have, the more likely it is that you'll make a mistake, and the more people you'll meet that will "try it on". I've managed to maintain my 100% on ebay, but I have had to bribe people and use every trick in the book to maintain it at times.

Example, I sold a Micra Leatherette Sleeve, sealed in it's Leatherman package to a guy. He received it about 3 days after the auction ended, but after about two weeks, he decided it was rubbish quality and wanted a refund or he'd give me neg feedback. So I said, look, if there's a problem fair enough, return it to me and I'd exchange or refund as he preferred. His reply was that he wanted a refund, but he couldn't return it because it was such poor quality he threw it in the bin.

So - what do you do? Such stories are very common, and if you've sold more than 1,000 things it's very rare to see people with 100% feedback, and those that have, have usually had to buy off a few arseholes along the way. Some don't mind so much.

 thanks for the info Dave. i dont sell on ebay and now that a person with first hand experience has explain the details to me, i do see it a bit differently. but with that being said, i still think this guy is not being honest about this product or he would have responded to my email. in my email i said that if he would assure me that the item for sale was indeed the item in the picture that i would buy it for sure.
  thats just my 2 cents though.

Hey that's cool, all of the above is irrelevant anyway, as the golden rule we should all follow, is that if we don't like the way it looks - leave it alone! That's just common sense!
