I was made aware by good people in another thread, that you could earn a Paracord badge.

So here is my attempt at acquiring said badge.

I've done rope work for a many years, and use it mainly for:
1. As a hobby activity at home or when camping. That could be in the form of lanyard making, practicing new knots by the camp fire, or making decorative knots.
2. Setting up camp. Rope work for shelters, tying up cooking stands, making tools and utensils and such.
3. Pioneering of simple building projects using only rope and timber.
So nothing fancy, but I find these activities to be very satisfying. I feel that I learn something new in a very direct and tactile kind of way. That I better my skill. The very evident and visible progress you get when working with rope, is very pleasing and motivating to me. I really like that about rope work, and whittling also.
I'm by no means an expert, and only know my way around the basics, which tend to be all I need. That would mainly be the Bowline, the Clove hitch, the Square knot, the Timber hitch and the Sheet bend.
For pioneering I tend to get by with the square, round and diagonal lashings. I use natural rope for all pioneering, Sisal and Manilla.
For camping I sometimes get a bit more advanced, and find good use for the Prusik hitch and the Truckers hitch.
Here is a few shots of a couple lanyards I made for a folder and a SAK-alike. They are both made using the humble Snake knot, which I really like tying.
A couple of sorry attempts at monkey fists can also be spotted. I find these hard to make using paracord.

I've been a bit more successfully at Monkey fists with thicker rope.

I was pleased to find other fellow rope entusiasts here.
