SAKs and Tariffs?

About 20% of Victorinox's market is the United States.  The US just put in place a 32% tariff on Switzerland!  (Which is a dumb move and I offer my apologies to our Swiss friends about it.)  Anyway, if you live in the States this might be a good time to get those SAKs on your want list, because the prices will probably go up within a few months.

Yeah, that's a concern with anything and everything.  Surprised me when I saw the post about the Compacts on Amazon for $39.20, often times people hike the prices in anticipation.

In the New York Times article I originally linked, there was a quote from Carl Elsener Jr., the chief executive for Victorinox, in which he stated that moving any SAK manufacturing to the US was not going to happen.

BTW, the article in question was a news article about reactions to new tariffs in Switzerland, not an opinion piece or a 'political link' IMO.  The moderator action leaves me with considerable doubt about what is permitted here.

it has been that price for a couple weeks before. And recall observing it offered discounted other times as well.
If on the River site check the Victorinox Store, other models are discounted as well. 😉
