Tightening scissors on an old Wenger
on: April 04, 2025, 06:07:16 PM
What’s up fellas. Removed the blade layer from an old Wenger so it’s a bit slimmer in the pocket…like to pair with my Skeletool. The screw that keeps the scissors tight keeps coming loose…I tighten it, it’ll be ok for a few uses, then the arms will be loose again. Thought about locktite, but not sure how well that would work with the tiny screw, and hesitant to take the scissors apart in case the thread is close to stripping. Any tips?

I had same problem with one of my Wenger, i used really small drop loctite to it and after that screw hasnt loosened anymore. Hardest part was adding right amount loctite to it to keep it tight but also trying avoid getting loctite between blades

Cool. Glad to know it worked. Did you have any problems getting the screw back in after you took it completely out in order to apply the locktite?

i didnt need to actually take screw off, i loosened screw bit and added loctite after that just tightened it back.
