Victorinox Executive, Scissor Spring
on: April 16, 2025, 08:39:05 PM
I finally got my hands on a Victorinox Executive (I've been wanting the orange peeler for years!)... but the spring was missing from the scissors.  I thought "No problem!" and went into my parts baggie and pulled out a couple springs but neither of them work.

Apparently there is a small bump on the original Executive spring that rides in a groove on the scissor and keeps the spring from sliding off to the side.  My spare springs do not have this - they just have a little flipped-up end.

So, apparently there are more spring variants than I knew of!

Can anyone tell me what spring I need? Model/part number?

Thank yoU!

I would be tempted to try and make a little bump on the spring with something like JB Weld.  If it doesn't work, you are out very little.  You might even have some on hand.  Could be possible to grind the end of the spring to a shape that would ride in the groove?   Best wishes.  G

I believe the part number you are looking for is A.6557.

To clarify, the spring-in-groove is actually the newer design, while the no groove/“flipped up end” design is older.
