Day 16
I found this leather slip that once held a pepper spray in a long-ignored box that I finally decided to look through.  It looked too useful to throw away and I discovered that it perfectly fits my old cross electrician.  Reduce, reuse, and recycle.

ANOTHER MONDAY MINI CHALLENGE?
Could it be?  Is it possible?  Will there be another mini challenge next Monday 21st?  There will be if somebody (not me) signs up to conduct one.  Make a post and say, "IMR, I think I will lead another mini challenge."  Any item or items on MTo will be fair game for challenge requirements.  First come, first served.  If there are two who want to do it, then I will assign one member to the Monday 28th date.  Only members taking part in this Anniversary Challenge event are eligible to start the mini challenge.  Fair enough?
Post clearly what the requirements are, and give everyone two or three days at least to gather things together and take some photos.  Who will be the next 'follow the leader' in this game?  Best wishes.  G
:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
IMR, I think I will lead another mini challenge. Copied and pasted because I am lazy!

                                                    Monday Mini Challenge!

So, pending Gary's approval, this will run on Monday the 21st.
Topic: automatic knives. Post a photo of one or more automatic knives, along with comments. What do you think about this knife, automatic knives in general, automatic knife laws and restrictions, etc.

So everyone who wants to participate may do so, if automatic knives are verboten in your neck of the woods or even if you simply don't own any automatic knives, just show us your closest facsimile. Assisted, Butterfly, flipper, whatever. Along with comments, of course.

You have my approval 100%.  Mini challenge will commence next Monday according to WECSOG's rule set.  Best of luck and congratulations on taking part in the game.  Be sure to post a reminder in a couple days.  Not everybody reads all the posts, I fear.  Best wishes.  G

This umique oddball is sold under "Professional" or "Paul Chen".

Basicly its a Gerber slide style with shears. The knife and saw are outside opening, while the 2 screwdrivers and can opener are inside... the file is removable and docks outside next to the saw.
Then I handed it to my wife and she loved the shears. She started cutting and didnt stop till she ran out of cardboard.

Honestly, the way it's set up with the small side opening pliers and big shears it seems more tailored towards crafts or flower arrangement

Feeling like rubbish today, and the Boss Lady had shots in her back this afternoon,  so I'm pulling a photo that she had sent me of our EV.

Sure, it's a 20+ year old golf cart that we use for yardwork,  but it is al electric.

Day 16

I don't think I've actually used the fixie once this month. I've carried it. I've shown it off. But I'm left with a couple of simple realities:

1. I don't actually hunt deer, or anything else that needs much skinning. At best, I clean a fish now and then, which this is an awlful lot of knife for.

2. In attempting to follow the Nessmuk plan, I've reserved it for food prep. I guess I could chop veggies at home with it, but I mostly just use my kitchen knives.

3. I haven't done a ton of camp cooking, even though we've been out camping this month. They've mostly been short stays close to civilization.

Might drop the food only restriction. I could certainly use it to open boxes, break down firewood, etc.

Nessmuk quote of the day: "I had the decency not to slaughter game for the love of killing, and leave it to rot, or hook large fish that could not be used." A fine policy.

Sweet  : :tu:
I've never seen the NAA black powder guns,BP  isn't very popular here, although they are available.

Day 15
I forgot to post,again  ::)
I EDC the Raptor as well, sometimes a Surge or SAK scissors just won't cut it  :D
Buddy of mine is an anaesthetist,he EDC'd a Raptor since his internship, said he used all the tools on the job, found the ring cutter indispensable, but they chose to use a rotary tool to remove a ring off guy's winky in the trauma ward on one occasion (he showed us pics)

Day 17

Looks like I have stopped mowing until when and if it rains.  I settled for cutting some low hanging branches yesterday.  I hate it when something drags against me when I am mowing.  Knocked my sunglasses off going under some low limbs last week, and it took a few minutes for me to figure out why it was so bright outside.  Luckily, I didn't run over the things with a mower.
    Opinel outside.  Best wishes.  G

Hey, Barry.  I just saw where Opinel USA has the No.6 Neo back in stock.  Walnut handles are $30, with the olive at $35.  Still seems like a bargain especially after we have been talking about whether or not the new Leatherman knives are worth $300 or not.  I don't remember seeing any posts about members having a Neo yet.  Maybe I just missed it.
That's a good looking Explore.  I like the plastic handles on these Opies.  A lot.  Best wishes.  G

My Spirit is an X. It's worth noting that the scissors are very different from other Vic models. Almost more like a pair of small shears. I don't dislike them, but don't expect them to just be larger versions of the ones on a 91mm SAK.

Day 17

Camp knives. It's interesting how these have different names depending on the target user, yet they are all the same design.
Top to bottom:
Boy Scout knife, Imperial USA
Kamp-King, Imperial USA
23OT Scout Knife, Schrade
Soldier, Victorinox
Not pictured: Camillus 1760 "Demo" knife.

I do have a Demo knife but it is in my military CUCV M1008 truck (where it lives) and I forgot about it until I had already taken the pic.
All of these knives are pretty much identical other than the scales, except the Soldier which lacks a bail.

Up for consideration, today, is my old Rough Rider 323 Stockman.  I'm a big fan of this large pattern and wish that RR would reissue them.  Pic is from before I died the scales brown.

@David Bowen, I would very much like to see the MKM put through its paces during the October fixed blade challenge.
@WecSog, you know, the Wenger soldier has a bailer.
@kottskrapa, nice work on the wallet.

Day 17
