I haven't seen a green coffee mug like that in decades.  They used to be Anchor Hocking and usually green for some reason.  I have seen white ones.  Don't know what happened to the ones in our house.  Best wishes.  G

Day 15:

Wurth Folding Utility Knife. Recent pickup to get over the free shipping threshold, but honestly, one of my favorite cheap knives at just under $8. While it's in the style of most German work knives--I'm guessing Taiwan and China. Wurth is terrible with not marking COO on tools.

Light, smooth (bronze washers!), and comfortable for extended use. I don't know if it's Euro knife laws or what, but it's strange this knife has a 2 3/4" blade, but a big 4 1/4" handle. Most of my knives have an inch less of handle for that size of blade or an inch more of blade for the handle.

Day 16:

Surge in the shop, Bond for everything else.

Thought I'd post an obscure historical MT--a Bonsa fishing knife. It is unique in that it has pliers that fold into an SAK-alike handle--something that took decades for other knife companies to do.

Day 17
It's late, (140am) I just got off work and didnt have many photos opportunities today...so you get a display case shelf.

*And yes the mirror back and the glass are messing with the photo.
I used to be a lot of things, and someday will again.
But for now I'm just a lost jack of trades with neither mastery nor home. ~NoaIsumi

My Spirit is an X. It's worth noting that the scissors are very different from other Vic models. Almost more like a pair of small shears. I don't dislike them, but don't expect them to just be larger versions of the ones on a 91mm SAK.

Thanks for letting me know BP  :tu:

Opinel and some flowers.  Won't be long before the blooms fall off.  I ran out of gas for the weedwacker, but the deer have been working nights keeping things nibbled down.  Best wishes.  G

I saw that too!  They were sold out, but I should check back.  Can't beat plastic handles!  Smooth opening!
Hey, Barry.  I just saw where Opinel USA has the No.6 Neo back in stock.  Walnut handles are $30, with the olive at $35.  Still seems like a bargain especially after we have been talking about whether or not the new Leatherman knives are worth $300 or not.  I don't remember seeing any posts about members having a Neo yet.  Maybe I just missed it.
That's a good looking Explore.  I like the plastic handles on these Opies.  A lot.  Best wishes.  G

What are your thoughts on that one?

I've been looking at that one for 2-3 years now, and it looks good (and you can even get it with a corkscrew!). Plus, it comes in high-visibility colors.

It's a good knife Cody, although a rather large one!  I'd like to take it camping and see how it does.  It's almost too large for EDC.  It would have been a great knife to have when I was a police officer, with that strap cutter.  The blade is sharp and holds an edge.  You can literally build a knife from the parts for sale on the manufacturer website, almost like a French version of SOG!  So far, I like it.  I'm going to carry it more.  I should have carried it in the large knife challenge, and will do so if it's held again next year.  Quality wise, it's good.

Cody, here's some more pics.  If you look closely in the third picture, you can see the glass breaking tip.  That Opinel is a No. 12.

That's one cool knife.

Day 17 (late)

Went to get this pic last night, but the lighting was awlful, so I decided to wait until morning. One of my friends mentioned he's starting doing hammock camping. The weather was nice last night, so I decided to give it a go on my stepdaughter's hammock on or porch. Pretty comfy. Was sleeping decently until the garbage trucks started around 4:30, then retreated to my regular bed with my wife. Boxer Nessmuk hung out with me.

Day 18 brings out my Gerber armbar drive.  I do really like the half frame multitool knives.
Addicted to sharp pointy things.

Definitely is rather large then! Recently traded my 12 for a Case 62031LHR because it was too big.

I mostly grab these larger folders A: during the winter (they work better with insulated gloves) or B: in the woods (since I've had stuff pulled off my belt from brush--or worst of all, the handrail on the UTV beside the bench seat).

Make up quote (I'm doing terrible with these this month):

Quote
These know that nature is stern, hard, immovable and terrible in unrelenting cruelty. When wintry winds are out and the mercury far below zero, she will allow her most ardent lover to freeze on her snowy breast without waving a leaf in pity, or offering him a match; and scores of her devotees may starve to death in as many different languages before she will offer a loaf of bread.

Nature is cruel, but we still stomp out there for fun.

Day 18

How do we feel about ereaders awl? I find a read a lot more when I use mine. It's convenient not to need a light, to be able to have 3 or 4 books with me at a time, to not have to go to pick up the book at the store/library, etc.

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

And, for today's quote, how about some alliteration: "Among them were some of the grandest gobblers I had ever seen, and one magnificent fellow came straight toward me."

I'm sure I've told this story before, but I once woke up in my tent to find a whole flock of turkeys wandering across my camp site. One of the coolest wild animal encounters I've ever had. Just gobblin' along from one bit of woods to another.
