Original Wave Awl Mod
on: June 19, 2025, 06:41:15 PM
Hi Awl,

I’ve been considering trying to add a PST awl to an original Wave.  I’ll be measuring soon and trying the swap.  I’m thinking it will work to replace a small flat driver on the scissors frame side.

Searching here came up empty on previous posts, but I’m sure I missed something.  Has anyone here done so?

Thanks

Why not? The diameter of the axles is the same, the groove can be adjusted. I don't have a Wave, but I did the opposite operation - I put Blast/Wave+ scissors on the PST. It turned out quite acceptable, even without adjustment.

It should go but not sure is awl thicker than small flathead so it may give some issues, if im not mistaken OG Wave shares same tools as PST and PST2

Just measured and awl is 2.4mm thick and small flathead (og wave) is 1.6mm thick so it wont fit . Can opener and large flathead is 2.4mm thick so if you replace either one it should fit without issues
