Otterbox 1000
on: February 17, 2009, 05:20:53 PM
I've been giving some thought about getting one of these Otterboxes. It seems like a neat, sweet size to fit in cargo pockets.Does anybody have one the 1000s that they could post a pic of so I can get a better idea of the size?

I have a clear one that I keep in the car as a FAK.  If no one else has a pic to hand, I'll take a pic for you later.
I'm back!!

Thanks! I'm curious as to it's size in relation to other objects.

There's one on the left side of this pic (opened up)

And it's also in this one.

Gave mine away to my house mate at the time, i preferred the Peli cases, but the Otterbox was smaller than the small Peli one :)

Is this any help? I know, not the best pictures, but made them just a minute ago running against time (battery of the camera was running out of power)

I use it to hold the camera in. I also have the 2500, to put some tools in. Both seem industructable and Otter seems to have the benefit over for example Pelican because Pelican do not have these small size of boxes and also be watertight. (according to their website) That's why I went with Otter.

Hope that it is of any use for you  :)

I have a few Otterboxes- the 1010 fits my phone almost as if it had been made for it!  It fits well in a cargo pocket but has a carabiner clip that I use to clip it to my belt on days when I'm working outside in the rain and want to keep my phone from getting soaked.

Would you be willing to trade that one set that has the ref filter, lanyard, clip, and antiroll bezel for something?

Errmmmm! I have a feeling that it has been taken apart and spread around the UK, sorry :( It's possible that it's sat at home somewhere but i won't be going back there to have a look for a month or two. They shouldn't be too expensive though, i think i've seen them for about £6 over here so i would have thought they'd be less than $10 :)

Yes those are pretty cheap, a (not very) local shop has it for less than $4, check with your outdoor shops and they should have it.
