Anyone have any feedback on the Morphvice?

Seen this fractal or morphvice on a Facebook ad. Looks interesting if it indeed does work. Holds oddly shaped and even circular shaped objects in a vice.

Morphvise isn’t a mass-produced cast tool. Each unit is CNC-machined from solid stainless steel or titanium — the same process used for aerospace-grade components.

There is something similar on aliexpress (and of course much cheaper)

No feedback on the particular model, but the style of vice is well known and does work. Although I'm sure there are good and bad designs or implementations within that category too. Also seems to be a popular thing to 3D print. The ones I've seen before have been wider and with more jaws, but I guess depends on your need.

Each unit is CNC-machined from solid stainless steel or titanium — the same process used for aerospace-grade components.

If anything such marketing gives me doubts. Anything describing normal production processes as aerospace related, or common materials as aerospace, makes me wonder which audience they are targeting and why they have to inflate it like that. (Lots of production processes and materials are used within aerospace). Those pieces of brass seems like bling, while I guess the titanium might have a real reason to be there as a material to prevent stainless surfaces getting stuck to each other. (Forgot the English term.. It will come to me when I least need it!) Bronze might have been a better functional choice for that though.

I searched and took a closer look. The width can be extended by adding more vices and mounting them next to each other. Titanium seems to be a separate option to stainless if you need portable. Then it makes more sense.

A more general question popped up in my head about the use of such vises - if you need place an object precisely, or do a series of objects placed exactly in the same place, these vises seem to lack any obvious reference planes or holes to ease precise or repeated placement?

(On a sidenote - if you have some really difficult stuff to hold, which can take a bit of temperature, then there are special low melting point metal alloys made for exactly that. Melt, pour around what you need to hold forming a clampable shape overall, then and melt away again when you are done).
