Greeting y'all from the UK.
on: September 29, 2025, 03:05:26 PM
Hi y'all, saw about intro'ing myself after posting on another thread, so yeah..... here I am, saying Hi from across the pond, here in the UK.

Into classic cars n bikes for the last 40odd years (yeah i'm apparently an 'old fart' according to my kids), tattooed, pierced, geeky and have an award winning beard, although it's MUCH shorter n trimmed now, hence the username.

Anyway, as you were.

Have a great one folks.

Welcome aboard! I also like the old iron. One of my very favorites is the original Mini.

Cheers.

I've never actually owned a mini, had a few mates who did back in the day. I was more into air-cooled VWs.

I used to have a '67 Beetle, and my Dad used to work with a guy who owned a Mini. I'd love to have one, but probably never will. Vintage Jeeps are much more attainable for me.

Hey NeatBeard. What vehicles do you have in the garage?

 :D

I've had to cut back quite a bit but currently I have my daily Merc SLK that I love honing around, especially as it's viewed over here as a 'hairdressers car' and im certainly Not your typical SLK driver/owner. Plus I have a '70 Beetle that has been backdated with earlier panels, it's lowered, narrowed be am, discs, etc has an 1835cc motor with twin 40 DRLAs and a few other trick bits including crank fired ignition wired to an ECU so it can be tuned via a computer and it does away with the dizzy which REALLY cleans up the engine bay, this is mated to a free-way flier style re-geared box too so a few trick bits and ive painted in rusty paint so it looks f**cked!! :D

Prior to that I had a Dodge A100 with rebuilt running gear, V8 etc etc imported from the USA, a retro style, hard-tailed Harley Chopper, an original paint Ex USAF Chevy C10 pickup on airbags, a Volvo Amazon, numerous VW Beetles and Camper vans and also a VW Squareback too..... propabably a few others that i've forgotten about too. I also have a couple of cool Nirve beach cruiser bicycles as well.
