RIP Ace Frehley

I was a huge fan of Ace.  I cranked the stereo every time Back in the New York Groove came on the radio.

I always will.

Ace was a brilliant guitar player and an inspiration to virtually every rock guitar player today.

Last month he fell and injured himself.  Last week he went to the hospital and today, shortly after being placed on life support he passed away.

Sleep well Spaceman.  I'll keep looking for you in the Fractured Mirror.

Aw hell.

I'd seen the story about his fall. This is just too sad.

RIP Ace

I wasn't really a KiSS fan as a lid in the 1970's.  But I loved the costumes.  And when speaking about Battlestar Galactica, I always make clear that I am referring to the one where the Cylon robots look like a KISS concert with laser guns.  They also sort of inspired the Klingon costumes of the  original Star Trek movies and all thier TV shows since the 80's

Anyway, as I grew up I began to realize some of the tunes I was rockin' to were indeed KISS.

I also learned that KISS helped give Bob Seger his break.  I love Bob Seger. As it turns out, Bob got in the habit of having a local act open for him wherever he was playing, because that's what KISS did for him.  Also turns out, a number of bands got thier break because of KISS.

Turns out that band had a lot of heart.

RIP, Ace.
