Recently I made a post about multitools from a blind perspective. Now it is flashlight time. I was born with optic atrophy. My patch cable did not fully form. I do not have depth perception. I am nearsighted. In my case a narrow beam 1/4 mile thrower is useless for me. I want a wall of light. I am concerned with several inches to say 15 feet. I wanted a light that is all flood and no hotspot. I wanted the highest quality I could aford. Buy once, cry once, yet know it is a light you can depend on. The Leatherman Arc is expensive, but worth it. I live in a rural aera. No street lights. It is dark. I found the Surefire Stiletto with the MaxVision beam. Sure it is expensive, but I see it as an investment in my safety, as a tool. Low, medium, hi. No strobe, no sos, no goofy UI, no app, no bluetooth. It is a tactile light. Sure there are brighter and cheaper lights, but I knew Surefire would be high quality and have high quality control. I went for a walk in the dark to try it out. Around here, you can walk for 30 minutes and never see a car. The light will flood the road, I like that. As it is a rectangle, it can be palmed with my trumb on the power button. Need more light?, just press. No menues or risk of activating disco mode. I am very happy with this light.
