Hi folks, apologies if this has been asked before, i did have a look around before posting, i'm after your knowledge/some advice please.

I just bought a Leatherman Arc that came with the grey sheath that has two elasticated sleeves, one on each side. I have put the bit extender on my Christmas list so hopefully that can go in one sleeve and i'd like a small keychain/pocket size torch to go in the other. Something no longer than 90mm/3.5" and kind of index finger width. Something robust/quality, simple to use, and water shower/proof.  Budget of under £50 UK. If you folks have any recommendations then i'd love to hear them. So far i've been looking at the following:

• OLIGHT I3T2 EOS - Which with their current Christmas offers I can get a 'free' i3E EOS which would be handy.

• ACEBEAM Pokelit AA Mini Rechargeable Torch.

• LUMINTOP Tool AA 2.0 LED Torch.

• ROVYVON AURORA A8 GEN 4 UV RED WHITE FLASHLIGHT - But i'm not sure of how much i'd use the UV or red lights, despite it having great reviews.

Thanks in advance for your time and any input/suggestions.  :)

• Lumintop Pocket-Sized Super Bright Flashlight Set - AA 3.0 EDC Flashlight.

There are quite a few options out there.

I think it is worth considering the following questions to help narrow the field:

Do you have a preferred power source? 1xAA?  1xAAA?  Rechargeable?

Prefer a tail switch, side switch, or twist switch?

Metal or plastic?

Do you want a single mode or multi-mode light?

Any specific output desires/needs?

Pocket clip?

Key ring/lanyard attachment point?

Tail stand capability?

Magnetic tail cap?

I think you’ll find that modern good quality lights are pretty much all highly water resistant.  So I would recommend double checking before making a purchase, but wouldn’t expect this to be a differentiator, except maybe for weeding out the garbage.

With regard to UV capability, unless you already have a specific use case in mind, IMO this would be something that adds weight, bulk, and complexity without adding much value.

Ditto red light capability.  Of course the selling point here is preserving night vision, but my experience is this isn’t critical if you have a low enough white light output available (e.g. moonlight mode).

Here are a few of my smaller lights (some now discontinued).  Top to bottom:

Olight i3 EOS

Fenix LD01

Fenix E12 V3

Those tiny Olights are a good choice, cheaper than dirt and fit those elastic side pockets. I think an AA light would be a very tight fit.

Good info JZ!  If we’re looking for 1xAAA sized light because 1xAA size is too big, that definitely narrows the field.

Fenix has a couple in that size range worth a look:  the 1xAAA E01 V2 and the E05R (which features a built-in rechargeable battery and a burst mode output of 400 lumens).

I rarely carry that sheath, but when I do I put an Olight i3T EOS in the side elastic band. It's great for my needs.

Cheers folks.

Just ordered the OLIGHT I3T2 EOS, as it seems pretty bullet proof, small, easy to use and a good brand.
