Military issue knives or copies of the same.  Wenger and Victorinox started out making knives for the Swiss military and branched out into items intended for civilian use.  The military issue models that were manufactured changed from the late 1800's until now as needs changed.  Best wishes.  Gary

If you are not aware of this fantastic resource called SAKWiki.com. This web site will help you ID Victorinox and Wenger knives.

Go to the Victorinox  list and look at the 93mm and 111mm sections. The main list is about 3/4 down the page inside a white and red table bounded by red lines. SAKs are lumped by length. Once inside each respective list, you can also narrow your search by layers of tools, etc...

The variety is mind blowing. Be mindful, collecting them is a slippery slope. One of the best hobbies though. Happy to have you onboard.

Here is one of my SAK storage drawers showing some Victorinox. Mostly 91mm and some 58mm knives.

I started collecting just after joining multitool.org back in 2009. If you plan on getting a few, you might want to think about display and storage. I ended up expanding my storage a few times, but I also collect multi-tools like Leatherman, etc... I know I am on the extreme side of things.

Chako, I am jealous. My wife would kill me if I installed a tool cabinet next to the bed.

And if I did, the drawer closest to the bed would have my night mouth guard, book, shotgun, and my favorite tool to fondle while I'm watching TV.

When I say tool I mean a Leatherman or SAK. Nothing else I swear.
