Are you serious right now? All tools wear! I have had SwissTools develop pivot play when they were as tight as a drum!  ::)

Pivot play will happen to all pliers from turning and loosening bolts, cutting hard wire, etc..

::)

I've been wearing my Spirit in its belt pouch today - first time for a very long time.  I usually carry it in my jeans pockets.  I'd forgotten how much I like the pouch.

I need to get me one of those Cap Crimper Spirits so I can see what the Olive Drab pouch is like :)

They are great Multis aren't they :D

I've just locked up my Spirits in storage for a year, so I have to demote myself to honorary member of the Spirit owners club until I grab myself another when I get to NZ :D

ive been using my spirit now for a good month at work, and im very pleased to say this tool is holdind up very nicley, still strong as the 1st day that id recieved it. i feel naked without it its the 1st thing i grab for in the morning and the last to be put away at nite.

i think i may have a slight multi tool addiction  >:D  ,as i want to add more to my collection so i can rotate my edc.

i cant believe that when you have your MT on you the amount of times that you need it, i was at my local supermaket last week ,after i loaded the car up i started to drive away when i heard metal scraping under the car, i got out and under the car was a basket wedged under the bumper and engine sump, with the car fully loaded i couldnt get to the jack, so it was down to the hard wire cutters to save the day with a few snips from the spirit the basket was cut down enough to pull the basket free, thanks victorinox for the quality of youre tools. ;)

has any one else had a day ,when their glad they had there MT with them?

How good is the spirit at cutting metal wire? Will it wear quite fast?

i fond it  really good at cutting electrical cable,
and cutting hard wire eg ,coat hanger ,is also good .i havent had any wear on mine and its been used pretty hard ,mine is only bout 3months old ,so i cant commet real long term, but id say the quality is up there with the likes of bacho and knipex. :)

Is the spirit a real SAK if the blade has "VICTORINOX SWISS MADE STAINLESS" written on it?
Why is the main blade chisel ground? What are the pros/cons of this?

The Victorinox Spirit is not a SAK (Swiss Army Knife). It is an MT (Multi-Tool) made by the premier SAK originator/producer.
A little Leatherman information.

Victorinox makes both, SAKs and Swisstools.
chisel grinding is cheap and easy to do.
you can sharpen it easy, you can get it really sharp
doesn't last, not good for many tasks.

I'm assuming that the Gentelman is talking about the " Butterknife " sheepsfoot serrated blade . Most serrated blades are chisel ground , it would be the standard approach across the industry .
