About Knox...
on: May 17, 2009, 01:41:51 AM
So I spent the last half an hour or so looking at the tools and knives made by Knox in Russia. They do have some very interesting designs, quite different to what we're accustomed to. We've seen pics of the Sapper by Bob and there's also the Biker and the Professional and that's probably it in this category, but they do also have a complete line of multifunctional knives, such as the Osas and the Pterodactyl (which looks awfully similar to one of Gerber's knives or maybe it is the other way round ::)) and the pricing seems quite reasonable. I don't know what they're like quality-wise but they are presumably used by the Russian military so they have to be good, right? :) Anyway, I'd love to get my hands on any one (cf. all) of those...  :gimme: :D

Yes over $100 apiece.

The "multitools" are (around $100 for the Biker, surely more for the others). The Osas on the other hand are in the $60-$65 vicinity ($40 for the Osa C). I bet that if customs don't overdo it, a volume discount would be very appealing... :D

It would be even better if a manufacturer here in the USA, or the UK, or even most parts of Europe could produce these tools under licence from Nox...it would be a hell of alot easier/more cost effective to sell to the rest of the world.

Imagine if Bear got the OK to make some of these tools!
