Just to clarify as it has been missed a few times, the title of this thread is "Pick ON your favourite tool", and the idea is to discuss what it is that you don't like about your favourite, not just what is your favourite.

yeah, my bad......pick? mmmm.....well the butter knife never convince me, is not that it wast usefull but i could be more if it has a drop-point shape, all though the new spirit fix that.

next in my list is the scissors, i never understood what was wrong with the classic design that victorinox decide to change it for the spirit and lastly if they could make a OH blade version of it.......that will be my perfect spirit

almost forgot, would it kill victorinox to put some sort of clip to the spirit, i know the swisstool maybe to big to pocket-carry but the spirit has the perfect size IMO

The Swissgrip blade gets dull in no time flat. I think I shaved a candle with it once and it dulled. That sucks.

Also, it's freakishly enormous.

by far the charge is my favorite but I wish the pliers were tougher like the power lock or schrade adjustable tool

on the Spirit is.

It says Victorinox and not Thomas since I would love to be the one that took the credit for it.

I love the Wave, but many here know I've had a rocky relationship with it. I love the one handed opening blades, the fact that it's built like a tank, and the all stainless construction (as opposed to aluminum or titanium handles). What I DON'T like about it is that it friggin bites. I've had many a blood blister from those big knife blades. Because they are one handed opening, they have to have these big eye holes, and when using the pliers, the two ends meet right in the middle, causing a nasty blood blister if you are not careful (a problem I never had with my Blast). Also, I wish it had an awl. I use those for ALOT of things day to day. Granted, I can improvise and use the pointy straight edged blade to make a whole in whatever, but an awl is awfully handy. Lastly, I wish it had the Blast's long drivers. While I like being able to switch bits, short drivers are a liability at times rather than an asset.

Well, since most of my EDC's are the humble SAKs my biggest gripe is the Cellidor handles. I love the tool selection on my Super Tinker but I know that I'm one good drop from having to replace the handles. I wish Victorinox could make ALOX scales with toothpick and tweezer slots.

I have to agree with you.Cellidor is nice,but a more resilient polymer material for scales would ring my chimes.

The Eco line scales are tougher, slip and scratch resistant. Same material is used on the 111 mm line (at least my OHTs come with them). The 108 mm line has tough plastic scales as well.

I'm aware of the Eco line,but they seem to take a back seat to Cellidor.AFAIK there's no Plus scales in nylon,as well as the Vic crest stamped on instead of the metal inlay.

I`ve got a SOG PowerLock that has the new plier head, exposed gears and old style locks. I like that set up. Its one of my favorite MT`s for work. My main gripe is the covers some times pop off and go pinging across the floor like a spend clip from a M1 Garand. Also the lock pivot pins that protrude from the side of the handles can be uncomfortable at times.

If we are allowed one more favourite, mine is the PSTII. But I really don't like the partially serrated blade. Put a sturdy Swiss type type blade in and it would be perfect. A better shape, stronger and more useable. Could anyone mod this for me?

Magical mode of transport, it would be dead easy too change the PSTII's blade for a PST's plain blade I would have thought , just need a donor PST.
