Some PST Differences(Riveted PST Vs Other PST's)

Bit of a train spotting post this  ::) :D. But last night I was comparing my new BO PST with my other LM's & noticed some  unusual differences. My made in Japan Riveted PST's can/bottle opener was slightly different too all the other LM openers I have. Only a small difference  ::) but still different  :D :D.

The other thing I noticed was when the pliers were closed the Riveted PST's handles were wider apart than the other PST's  :think: :think:

Has anyone else noticed these differences ? Or is my Riveted PST an odd one (like me  ::) :D)

The handles on my rivetted PST sit further apart than those on my others too.

I have a couple different PST's (non riveted) that have the same difference in the handles. I will try to put some pics up if I can ever get the camera.

The handles on my rivoted PSTs are wider than my other PSTs. The awls are also different. The can openers on the rivoted are different as one is left handed grind and the other is right handed grind. The left handed grind can opener has hollow rivots, US PAT 4238882 and Leatherman only on the knife blade. The right handed grind can opener has solid rivots, REG`D TM 1325473 and Leatherman Japan on the knife blade. But as mentioned by Nomad this is discussed in the above sticky. Seems to be a alot of variations in the PSTs.

My old knurled 1 the legs farther apart on it like the riveted ones :tu: I believe that all the tools are similar to the riveted ones as well :D

mine also has the older US pat # 4238882 which is something to pretty much always pay attention too when spotting the older riveted and knurled PSTs
