My Christmas gift to myself arrived. M4 Benchmade 940. Came with a little EDC wallet I am giving a tryout, so far, I like it.

Not counting the SOG and flashlight that live in my car, my daily carry has been pretty uneventful, and nothing much new except for another flashlight, a cheap but very powerful little rechargeable LED number from Tractor Supply, which is becoming a regular companion.

I spent most of the afternoon in the sub-20 degree cold, fixing the brakes on my wife's car.  It decided, halfway from Vermont to Cleveland, that this was the time for the front brakes to wear out, resulting in many miles of hearing a nearly liningless pad scraping down the rotor. The brakes have warning squeakers on the inner pads, so of course it was an outer pad that wore fastest.

Anyway, the usual suspects, useful for snipping wire and cutting open boxes and bending the tabs on the little stainless steel caliper slides.  On the Cleveland trip I took my other old Gerber but never used it. But I always have the sad SAK, which did good service opening wrappers, cutting up treats, etc.  The flashlight was handy today in the semi-dark barn, and the cheap watch, as usual, doesn't mind cold and abrasion.  And the SAK lives in a pocket because after all these years I feel nearly naked without one.

So here's today's carry, no news, just old friends.

Nice carries! I use my tools daily but after I started collecting and switching them up often, nothing really wears down very fast. I always like seeing a well used tool!

I've got a modified watch and modified 're-fuse' with me today.

Those TL-29s still look good to this day even with how old of a design they are!
I knew my wife was a keeper when she transitioned from calling it a knife thingy to a multi-tool.

Already in the Bond challenge, so won't be doing this everyday, but since I don't like taking pictures that much, might as well put them to good use.  ::)

Two good ones.  The multi-colored Vic is especially eye-catching.  Did you get the matching Classic with it?  I hope you have some fun here.  It is really a very friendly place.  I have never seen another forum on the internet like it.  Best wishes.  Gary (IMR4198)
