Today I added the HDS Rotary to my pocket.  Since someone thought it would be OK to release this light without a clip it only gets pocket time when I can spare a pocket.  It is a nice light, much like the previous version from HDS and US made Novatac models.

I've customized the programming on the light to my current likes and we'll see how it works out.  I'm undecided about the rotary on this light, but I don't think it detracts from the operation of the light, but it meant removal of the clip at least for the timebeing and that to me just does not seem acceptable.  I also used some diffusion film to improve the beam radiation pattern and quality since I'm now use to very nice beams on several of my EDC lights.

Anyway I'll be carrying it on and off for a while to see how it works out.

I really like the 2 x AAA format for lights. Today I've been carrying my streamlight/fenix frankenlight, which I've been doing ever since the rubber boot fell off my Eagletac PN20a2.

Right now I'm carrying my Surefire LX2.

Same here. The 2xAAA is my favorite. The size is usually perfect and you get great run time. The AAA batteries are also very easy to find.

Pocketed them both this morning to remind me to check batteries before I go camping.
I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.

I was going to buy a E01 but hate the fact that it does not have a plastic covering in the front.

Given the style of LED it has, and the fact it's well recessed, it's not really necessary I suppose.  But I do get where you are coming from.

I just think that it will be riding in a pocket all day and it will be getting pocket lint and what not in there.

I've been carrying a Lumapower Dmini VX for the last little bit and loving it.  Great little light and pretty decent run times too!

I believe your Quark Mini AA is very similar to my iTP A2, if I'm right then it's a cracking light IMO.  Small enough to just drop in a pocket or hang on a keyring, bright enough for close to medium work and has far better run times compared to a AAA light, what's not to like? :tu:

Thanks to Gareth's suggestion, after popping in a new cell, my ITP A1 is working much better!  It came in handy last night when we went out to spray wasps nets around the house  :tu:

Carried my Surefire LX2 today. I like this light a lot, but as an EDC, I'm finding it a bit big. For example, if I'm wroking on something with both hands, I can't really stick it between my teeth like I can with my stylus pro frankenlight.

I shall persist however, to at least give the idea of running with a bigger torch with much better runtime a go.

(Image removed from quote.)

At that angle, it almost looks like a Surefire M2 with an LX2 clip on it. (you can tell I've got Surefire on the brain right?)

I've gotten a custom bored Surefire C2 recently, with an 18650 battery and a Malkoff P61L drop in. I thought the LX2 was built like a tank. This thing is a brick. Now I'm hunting for the ultimate P60 drop in for it.
