Used my Spirit to cut open the bottom of the brand new couch to try and retrieve our snake that crawled in there. I still can't get him out. My GF is going to use the Spirit to stab me when she gets home tonight.

My mate's electric scooter wasn't working and he suspected the batteries.  So I went around armed with multimeter.  The problem was immediately obvious, the wire from the bike's charging socket to the battery pack had come loose.  The full size pliers were too big to allow me to recrimp the wire back into its connector so a rummage around my coat pockets produced my Clutch.  Job completed successfully :tu:

Probably its last outing as the plier head is sprained and it was a real pain to use :(  I managed to sprain it last year when opening a plastic butterfly nut designed to be opened by hand.

For the money is a neat little tool but those pliers can only handle the same kind of workload as the ones on a SAK.
I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.

Then the advice is keep spirit on desk, and hide all of your tactical long blades... Better to be stabbed with spirit then with some tactical wicked blade...  :D :D

Gerber warranty repair/replacement time?

Possibly.  I did cause the damage to the tool but I honestly thought it was a job that they should have been able to handle with ease.  How wrong I was.

I used my Spirit to fix a "new" pair of Clauss scissors, that due to poor manufacturing tolerances and non existent QC was shipped defective.  They may look fancy, but they are not.  I was cut in the process by the scissors, so I curse that company and it's management. Now the scissors are fixed, and they can sh... that "lifetime" warranty crap.

The Spirit on the other hand is actually built to last!

Videoed a wedding yesterday, and my Explorer Plus' pen came in quite handy for labeling tapes.

See post in The Breakroom for a tangent to this post.

Used the pliers on my Leatherman PS4 to slightly tighten the clip on my space pen,as it was slipping and I was afraid it might scratch the lacquer.

To my way of thinking, Pliers are meant to ply things.

Twisting a butterfly nut is definitely within the confines of plying and should be covered.

Quote
ply 1  (pl)
tr.v. plied (pld), ply·ing, plies (plz)
1. To join together, as by molding or twisting.
2. To double over (cloth, for example).

I used the PE blade on my ST300 for cutting up a whole bunch of boxes at work. The. I immediately went to my Sharpmaker and made the blade razor sharp again.

Later I used the big slotted screwdriver to change the blade in my Stanley Box knife.

Kinda ironic now that I think about what I've done.

Today, I actually used a multi purpose hook! :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh

I don't think I had ever used the hook before... except for making long silly SAK chains by connecting several SAKs by their key rings and hooks :D

Anyway, I wanted to remove the inner part of my Tile drain in order to clean it. It turned out the mutli purpose hook is the ideal tool for that job! I don't think I can think of a better way to do this  ::)

Used the ST 300 to pull the reatainer spring out of the bit holder on a Chicago Pneumatic Rivet Buster.

The tag end if the spring kept slipping out of the jaws of the pliers and I got
a nasty bruise on my finger now from it.

That, and all the wire I could handle. It's seemed like every coiled up hose today was held in a coil by a piece of bailing wire.

I got to use my new BO ST 300 today.

I had to change the lightbulb for the third brakelight on my F150, also one of the license plate lights went out and the Kershaw Skyline and the 300 assisted in that one too.

And in case anyone reads this and is wondering, no, I am not lucky enough to have to replace two bulbs that went out at the same time. I noticed the license plate light was out tonight, but the third brake light has been out for the whole two years that I've had the truck.

By the way, check those lights guys. Just another stupid reason for a police officer to pull you over and give you a $25 fix-it ticket.

Except for the rare vehicle, I hardly ever/never see cars that have license plate lights.
