Today my Spirit X arrived, courtesy of Captain Spaulding.  About an hour later, I used the pliers, pry bar/chisel, and file to replace pins in the floor scarifying machine we rent out at work.  Those cotter pins were a pain!

Just to show why we had to replace the pins, the new pin is on the left, a used one on the right:

The old ones had been worn smooth and ground down by the spinning of the grinding wheels!  The wheels wouldn't contact the cement being worked on, they kept flopping away.  Sucker works great now.  :tu:  Also used the tweezers on my Evo 16 to remove a couple of metal splinters...... ::)

Used a SAK Tinker to remove the scales of an SAK Explorer for cleaning. Used a Leatherman Wave's scissors to cut some suede leather. It works on leather, man. Get it? 'leather, man'?

Used the serrated blade on a Wave to cut apart an old plastic trash can that had splits in it. Now it should fit in the recycling bin.

We had a door we needed to lock at work, but it hasn't been locked in so long that no one knew where the key was.  I took the cylinder out with my Blast, and found one that matched it, but while swapping the levers out, the actual cylinder slid out of it's sleeve and all the tumblers fell out.  I managed to get them back in, but it was impossible to slide the cylinder back in and not lose any so I decided to just key it with 2 tumblers, as we are going to replace it tomorrow anyway.

Problem was, the lever that I needed to put on the new cylinder was not cut for it, so I had to use the file on my blast to remove quite a bit of metal from it to make it fit.  I got it down to the right size and slapped that bad boy back together and we were rocking!

The little screws that hold the lever on the back of the cylinder are a bit small for my Blast's phillips, so my Explorer came in to save the day there.  The Explorer phillips is a dream on smaller screws, I even stripped one very badly(my fault, not the SAK's), and the explorer shows no signs of wear.

My boss always teases me for carrying my tools and for being a member of forums just for tools.  I showed him what they are all about tonight!

I didn't have a spoon, and ended up using the serrated blade on my charge TTI as an eating utensil.  After carefully eating dinner without cutting myself, I realized that things would've be a lot easier with the large flat head screwdriver.

That's a brave use of a serrated blade for sure.  I've used a knife before to eat pineapple.  I got a lot of strange looks as I stabbed the pineapple and ate it, but it worked.

Today my wife and I were out in the yard and the weed-eater broke down, instead of having to hike back up to the house to get my tools, I simply pulled out my LM Wave and had things up and running in no time. My wife was VERY impressed, and is even talking about letting me buy her a Micra! Life is good.

I've been using my camo Surge for last few days. I've done some repairs in the garden and both blades have been useful. Actually  most what I've done could have been done just by Surge but for cutting I had my Knipex pliers and for screws a Wera driver set - I just love those and gotta admit that specific tools are often handier than jack-of-all-trades. But probably all that could have been done by Surge, that should be tried one day.

Use the LM ST300 to install a new clothesline.
The cutters did an OK job of cutting the stranded wire. The hard wire cutters did a beter job this time than the Stranded wire cutters of the tool.

They still required a few passes to cut it though.

The pliers worked fine for pulling the wire.

The file failed at cutting it fast enough; so I used the cutters.

Yesterday I used my Handyman to fix a ticketing needle gun so I could finish attaching new product information graphics to some backpacks.

I always use the proper tools for the job when I can.  Multitools are more of a "save my ass" or convenience thing.  I suppose that's why I love the skeletool so much.  Anything more than a blade, pliers, screwdriver and I'd rather go to my toolboxes.

I cut away some fiberous debris from a garden tiller with the serrated blade on my Rebar.  It might be the first time I have ever found a use for a serrated blade.

'Some... debris"?

Looks like it got caught in a brush pile.

You really should have declared that someone is your uncle in order to do that.

Glad the Rebar was there to save the day!

I used my Rebar last night to help Mod my blast.  I put some serious pressure on the pliers and they worked beautifully.
