Im not disagreing , but Ive done body work for years and the older cars did have much thicker sheet metal and frames. People got hurt more often in old cars because of lack of safety equipment. Seat belts were an option back then and most didnt get them. The glass they had also shattered and caused more injuries. Air bags are great when they work, I crashed an 08 dodge ram last month, head on 45 mph, air bags did not deploy. It totaled my truck and I got hurt pretty bad.
Watch this, I know some people think old cars are safer but I disagree.http://articles.moneycentral.msn.com/Insurance/InsureYourCar/crash-test-1959-chevy-vs-2009-chevy.aspx
