Ummm...guess it wouldn't be very appropriate for me to shout...GO N.A.D.S!As I like squirrels.
That dog is lucky that squirrel didn't rip him apart.I saw a furious ball of seething rage tear apart a colleagues arm whilst doing a small mammal study in the Elliot Lake region of Northern Ontario. They are cute and cuddly looking, but have super long and sharp claws, and are all muscle. He made the mistake of trying to remove one from a Havahart trap without using thick leather gloves. I swear that squirrel laughed its ass off at him as it went its merry way leaving him to bleed all over the place. We had to take him to the hospital, and 10 stitches later he was good as new and a bit wiser with a lesson learned the hard way.Fantastic series of photographs.

He was content to spend hours at a time observing and stalking squirrels in the fenced in yard. He killed them on a regular basis, then brought them as trophies to the front porch. Some dogs are just natural born killers. He must have killed hundreds of squirrels over the years, along with countless birds, rabbits, raccoons, possums, etc. He rarely sustained any damage from his prey, beyond an occasional cut on his muzzle.Once met a hunter who was missing the last digit of a little finger due to it having been bitten off by a squirrel he had picked up, thinking it was dead..
