What seems odd though is how well built it is. I mean, this thing is made better than some legitimate Gerbers I've handled! I'd say the real Gerber folks better watch out or the fake Gerbers are going to give them a good reputation!
That "ramp into square" doodad looks like it might work as a jack crimper for CAT-5 cable, or phone cords if it's slightly smaller. The plastic jacks on such cables usually have a bunch of copper gates (as seen here) that are squashed into the fanned-out wire tips, usually with a specialized set of crimping pliers. That would sort of go with the wire-stripping functionality.The hammer side is to beat your router until it works. This is known, in the "industry", as percussive maintenance!
