I have to say that the G-1100 has really impressed me!
Firstly I have to admit that I chose it purely on looks, so I did not resesearch it properly first, so I was a bit surprised to discover that it keeps track of wich month and year it is. I probably wont have to adjust the date until its time to change  battery. :tu: (you probably all knew this, but I have never seen a pure analog watch that can do that)
It also has pretty good lume wich lasts all through the night! :tu:
Its just the right size for my wrist, its light weight, its rock solid and it is a analog chronograph. This watch seems to fulfill all my EDC needs and dreams. :)

I just got this awesome G-1100b from Lowtech, our very own G-shock pusher :D

...
I have no Idea how change between the different modes on it yet though
Luckily Thomas had already set it to the correct time :D

I got two G-s from him at once. Had to read through both of the manuals and it got mixed up in my head (as if I wan't mixed up enough already :P ) so I now have to read it again.

It would be easier if I could decide which one to wear regularly but I change out the watch I wear more than I mix up my SAKs and multies. ;)

Rocking the DW 6900 here. Had another pretty much the same that lasted so long the battery died. I buggered up the battery change so pitched it in the trash and bought this one.

This one is on its third combat deployment and still going strong. I expect it will last ten years or so till the battery dies and I get a new one.

Next time the battery runs low, take a look here:

http://forums.watchuseek.com/f43/how-change-battery-g-shock-19704.html

It´s easy to swap the battery and your G will last another few years!

Yeah I was not to invested in the battery change because the watch was honestly in pretty rough shape.

Some day I want to score a nice analog G.

There are some pretty ones and analog G´s go from entry level G- 100 up to GPS synched 4digit prized high end ones...

Just a little bump.
Sported my DW-5600 E today. Put the GW-M on the desk to think about some modifications.

I have bought a case with the black / grey faceplate from the GW-M 5600 BC model to make a watch with more subdued colours. While doing that swap, I will be replacing the battered resin strap and bezel, too.

While at it, I am thinking about modding another G-Shock. I bought a DW-5000SL, which is a reissue of the steel cased early DW-5600C. I think about switching out modules with a standard DW-5600E one, as I dislike the Spike Lee Logo in the backlight, strap on stealthed resin and have a nice "sleeper" watch. Looks like a cheap Casio, but has the nice SS case. Still unsure if I should mod a collectors piece, though.

Then I have a DW-5600 BB which has a completely blacked out faceplate, which I do like. But it has a negative LCD which is hard to read in twilight. So maybe the positoive DW-5600 E module will go there instead?

so many decisions...

Another attempt at subtle humor failed. I was trying to take a shot at him using a bunch of technical speak that I did not understand not his language skills.

Since this is a picture type thread here is my G love. Still rocking the same G Shock as usual.

Just buy a few and you´ll be a fluent speaker, soon. Just like MT and SAK speak - It´s contagious.

Edit: I understood the humour. Thanks for the compliments, though Zed. Grathr, did you receive my package yet? While I will let you know what I come up with mod wise, I´d like to hear about your G-Shock torture.

Thanks guys!  I got it used, but it seems to have barely been worn.  It's a big sucker but very comfortable.  It's got a nylon strap rather than resin, you can see the yellow underside of it peeking out from the top of the pic.  It's a wide strap and very comfortable.  The yellow and black is pretty sharp looking too.  Now to figure out how to use the tide info, moon phase function, four alarms, two stopwatches, world time, and whatever else is hiding in the functions.....  :)

Functions are COOL!!!  Imagine my how much time I spent trying to master the Rangeman's Massive list of functions

I've been eyeing either one of those or the slightly less expensive G9300.  What are your thoughts on it thus far?

Perhaps I should have started a separate thread with my questions instead of hijacking this one, but since I've already begun, I might as well keep going.

I went to the local store and tried several different G-shocks.  Imagine my disappointment when all of the factory bands were too small for my wrist.  Anyone have experience with longer OEM bands, or longer aftermarket replacements?

What is your wrist size, if I may ask?
And what models do you favour?
Sometimes you can get away by swapping the strap to teh one from another model that is longer.
Or, you do fit some adaptors and wear a Nato/Zulu strap.

DW 5600E with G-lide Adaptors and 24 mm Zulu

Here I fitted a Seiko diver strap to a DW 9400 (DW 9052 sibling)
