I visited the local gun shop and came across two Browning kits that looked interesting. Interesting enough that I brought them home with me.
Kit #1 comprises a small multi-tool with a pen light that throws 14 lumens from a 5mm LED. This light runs on 3 AAAA batteries. There is also a right angle inspection attachment that will throw light into hard to reach places.
Kit #2 contained a larger multi-tool with a larger penlight that throws the same amount of light from the same LED, but this time, it is powered by 2 AAA batteries. This kit also came with 2 inspection attachments, one clear and the other red to preserve your night vision.

The larger MT has the Browning symbol on it. What I found surprising, the smaller MT doesn’t. Browning is one of those companies that will put a symbol on anything and everything. Much like Winchester. So the exclusion of any form of branding was unexpected. What was a bit interesting, the smaller MT is a copy of the larger MT, right down to the tool selection and placement. The larger MT did have several washers stacked inside. Technically, there was room for another 3 to 4 tools, but stacked washers were used instead. The smaller MT does not have any spacing for extra tools. This sort of makes the larger MT a bit of a letdown. I hate to see wasted space on an MT. Sort of like lost opportunity.

The tools do not lock on either Browning multi-tool. Unfortunately, there is no tool snap either coming from a back spring. This made the MTs feel cheap…which of course they are. The LED lights are nice however. The larger has a nice cross hatch texture on the metal barrel that gives great grip. The smaller longer LED lacks this nice tactile feature. You can press the button half way, which will give you light up to the point of releasing it with your thumb, or you can press fully until the button clicks and the light will remain on until you re-press the button fully to disengage it.
That is about it. Two Browning Mt/LED pen light kits. Overall, not bad for the money spent.
