Worth a read http://www.khukuriblades.com/handling_kukri/1.php
Seriously; what makes them exceptional cutters is their good geometry coupled with a quality heat treatment. not too distant future i'm also going to order a Sirupate model from Simon.
It's the proper (and very expensive) carbon V version.
This question is for Mike amd may be a bit if noob question. What is your Cold Steel Kukri all about? I get the impression it's pretty special I take it it's not the £25 one from Heinnies
It's a deleted line now sadly and cost a pretty penny when I bought it Like a lot of Cold Steel kit it's not a pretty knife, but dear God it performs No other tool I own, including some GB axes, can chop wood as well as it can, and be so effortless while it's doing it This is the one knife I will NEVER part with!
No, me!
How are they as just a survival blade? I have never used one at all really, and was just woundering can you do "fine" cutting with them? Or are they just huge choppers?
