They've got their fans but I, and Ben, am not one of them. :-\  IMO cheaply made, uncomfortable and not particularly sharp, I just don't see the appeal.  Like I say though there are plenty of folks out there that disagree. :)

I think they are a POS (like Gareth said) but some foolish people disagree.  :D

if you want something French, I think an Opinel is a far better choice :)

As an Axis reenactor, the Douk-Douk kind of reminds me of this oldie but still a popular goodie courtesy of Solingen.. Here's a repro alongside a very worn out original..
