Specially in the knee and elbow region...

Tattoo's
Reply #123 on: June 21, 2016, 05:31:23 PM
When I was a kid, my mom picked up groceries for a elderly friend of my grandma.
One visit I showed Martha the tattoo on my arm from a bubblegum pack.
She looked at me and said "tsk, tsk, you never want a tattoo! It never comes off" then she showed me the tattoo on her wrist, a series of numbers, and then told me those were etched into her, "it was the last time she saw any of her family."

I learned that she was Jewish and about concentration camps.   She did return to her home after the war, and recovered family photos and then made her way to the USA when She met my grandma in Chicago and later moved to Michigan.
I kept my promise to her, never to get a tattoo.

The last tattoo I got was like 10-12yrs ago, which includes the boys names(yes Adrboy's) along with a skull and band, before that I got one like another 10yrs earlier, which is the madplumbarian(a skull with crossed pipe wrenches) which they screwed up.. Along with the wife's name over the heart, again kinda screwed up, yet fits the wife! I could soo go for more but there expensive!

The one I got on my arm was far from painful!!  Between the vibrations of the gun, and the woman rubbing her hand on my arm, it was putting me to sleep. :)  It was very relaxing!!

I really want to get another one, just haven't figured out what yet.

Trust me on this one Derek, the last thing you need is a strange woman rubbing your arm until you fall asleep.... next time you might wake up in a motel bathroom in a tub full of ice and a kidney shaped hole in your side!   :ahhh

How about one of you, Mo and me rap singing with shades, back to front hats, baggy jeans and fashionable sneakers on? That would be so sweet and you'd look really cool.

I've got a few tattoos  , got them when I was young and daft.
I wouldn't say they hurt but what does hurt is that I wish I hadn't had them now

Canadian icon Red Green said there are only two things more painful than getting a tattoo.  The first is getting another tattoo, and the second is getting either of those tattoos removed.   :ahhh

My, uh, religion for lack of a better word, is ambivalent about tattoos*, but they're not exactly haram.

*It happens when a bunch of different rules are written in a bunch of different eras by a bunch of different people, and then the meaning of the rules is debated in a bunch of different languages by people with a bunch of different agendas.

Having said that - I  say get some. Regretting getting them is probably not as bad as regretting not getting them.

Pain is temporal, and body mods are cool.

Not that I do either, but if I had to choose, I'd rather spend $1000 on a tattoo than on a few kgs of body building supplements or a couple of handbags, or whatever it is you folks are doing (let's not mention  :multi:, that's a different question)

In my 20's I wanted to get a winged dragon tattooed on a certain, more personal part of my anatomy. It was to wrap around the entire length. But... at that time the only thought was how to stay firm throughout the whole ordeal, as I'm not a fan of pain. Although I kinda wished I was brave enough to had it done.

Probably not cute, but female. :P  Did meet up with a really good female tattoo artist, but I didn't have the nerve to bring the idea up - or mention it in 3rd person.
