A few of my flashlights
on: November 04, 2010, 04:38:13 PM
I'm a new flashaholic but am really enjoying this hobby.  I get out pretty much nightly and walk close to an hour to keep blood pressure in check so these are my lights and thought I would post a picture of them.

Left to right:  Commander 9an
                      Commander 8ax
                      G3L
                      Quark AA2
                      6P
                      G2 (took the led out)
                      E1E

Change drop ins - incan/ led, boar it out, change switches, change heads - the options really are endless with a 6P.

I want to get one and make a light cannon.  >:D

I'm back!!

Sean,

Nice lights bud, great start to another addictive hobby. And definitely get to legoing that 6P, lots you can do to them......cell extenders, different heads, bezels, tailcaps, drop-ins, etc.

Here's my 6PD with a little lego action....

Very nice looking light there 2xtap.  :)  So tell me a bit more about the 6p mod's you've done
to your light?  I like it and might try something similar?  Did you buy all your parts from Lighthound?

I'm pretty much set to play with the one's I have now for awhile.  There really is nothing that
takes my fancy that I just have to have.

Sean,

This one started life as a regular Surefire 6PD with the weak P60 lamp. I have done all kinds of swaps to this thing using various parts and drop-ins, but this configuration is what I have kept going back to and it currently resides in.

The head and body are 6PD, the drop-in is a Solarforce CREE XR-E R2. On the back end is a Detonator cell extender and a LEEF McClicky tailcap.

Most of the parts I use to mod my lights I have picked up through Lighthound. But over the years I have also snagged some off of Ebay as well as a few other on-line stores like BugOutGear, OpticsHQ, and The Sandwiche Shoppe.

I wouldn't mind a light cannon either but it's got to be able to run over an hour.  I see that TK-45 will do the turbo for about two!  :o

The Malkoff M61 drop-in advertises approximately 260 out the front lumen's and approximately two hours run time.

Very nice, I've been into flashlights for years and you now have more of them than I do, and almost all SF too!

Thanks Jz,  well I did go kind of nuts there, now I'm going to sit back for a bit and enjoy them.
I'm cycling through them on a daily basis as I'm a walker.
My next venture though will maybe be to grab a host, and drop in from Lighthound
and build a bit of a high flyer.  :)
