I've got a lot total of fifteen 91 & 84mm used Vics on the way.  I won't know exactly what's included but I know I saw a Fieldmaster, Sportsman, and a Tourist with a clip point small blade.  Just got the USPS delivery msg, so I'll see when I get home tonight! :ahhh

Well, I finally found my perfect pen for my needs and I ordered it today..

I needed a simple pocket pen to carry with my mini notebook, something that was long enough to use, yet small enough to fit in a pocket. I originally thought a fisher space pen bullet, but didn't want to carry something expensive in case I lost it, yet didn't want to do the bic cut down, so I looked around and found what is a bullet crossed with a bic, same setup of a bullet, but a plastic and uses a simple ink. Can't wait, I spoke to the owner and they are also thinking of making a keychain attachment, guess we'll see..

Well, after throwing a total lowball offer to an eBay seller on a lark, it looks like I've got a Leatherman Wave headed my way! It seemed to be in decent shape from the pics, aside from needing a real cleaning, so we'll see. Worst case scenario, it goes from me to the mothership for a trained professional to look at it.

Are those pokka pens comfortable in the hand?

Just ordered a Uni Kuro Toga Roulette in gun metal. Looking forward to trying it out. I do a lot of writing in my job that has to be very tiny print so a sharp pencil is key.

Ordered a Pioneer X as an impulse buy last night.

Picked these two up at a pawn shop just before the Holidays, still in packages.

Well, my Wave arrived...And it was in way worse shape than the seller described. Not a single inside tool could even open, half the outside tools were sticky, rust spots up and down it...

Really bad shape. So it's now off to Leatherman themselves to do what they can, and later tonight I'm gonna try and get the eBay seller to give me some of my money back. Because yeah, you do not get to call a tool "otherwise good condition" in that kind of shape.

Didn't you " throw a total lowball offer"?  >:D So you both want Leatherman to take care of a crappy tool and get some dough back as well? :o

Daaaaaaaaang!  Shots fired!

Does beg some questions though....  Just not sure if those questions are ethical, moral, or both..

I have personally never used a warranty for Leatherface, Vic, or any other MT manufacturer... not saying I'm opposed to it, just haven't encountered a case that met the criteria.  I have received a couple damaged knives from auctions that didn't arrive as described but I took it up with the seller only.  That said, if I broke a tool during normal use from a knife I purchased second-hand, I don't see a real problem with using the warranty.    A lot of us scout for those new/old knives out there, so I don't think it's unreasonable to ask companies to stand behind those warranties... after all, it is called a "Lifetime Warranty"

A lowball offer for an actually working tool.  :P Rather high on the ball, as it were, for a lump vaguely shaped like what I was told I was buying.

So shouldn't you just send it back to the seller and get your money back as it is "item not as described" ?   Your beef is with the seller of this secondhand tool, not the maker.

I don't see how you can ethically expect Leatherman (or any other manufacturer) to fix a tool in the circumstances you have described.  This makes warranty costs higher than they should be, which increases the prices for all buyers of new tools from that manufacturer.

Then I guess I'm an immoral, terrible person. I've long known this, as one of many elements of my own depression and self-loathing.

But with the package already out of my hands, there's also not exactly a lot I can do to change things from this point. I can't un-mail the box. So I suppose I'm sorry, and will take my leave so as to not cause you any further trouble.

I have a US Schrade ToughTool on its way. Quite excited as my only other MT is a Spirit. I'm not expecting the TT to be anything like the Spirit, but I've admired the design for some time.

Okay, I've had a good night's sleep and am no longer in a panicking despair spiral. (Still oversharing, obviously, but it is what it is)

So I'm not going to try and get money back from the seller. That said, at this point, I don't exactly see a way to "fix" things. Sending the seller the replacement won't fix anything, it'll just mean they sell it again for more money. Short of, I don't know, trying to get Leatherman to send it back unfixed/unreplaced, which I'm not even sure they have the capacity to...yeah. chalk it up to the folly of youth and move on. Any opposed?

It is what it is. If Leatherman give you a brand new one as replacement, use it well and enjoy it, you are also out a few bucks to send it in already. Maybe buy a tool or two from them as "paying back". I take it that you did not know Leatherman could refuse to honor warranty on junk tools bulk purchased from auctions, though there is no way they could prove it. Hopefully, if Leatherman honor the warranty for you, they will get a high mark in your eye, and you can become a customer for a long time.

A new alarm clock, I gave my old one to the little guy, but I can't stand having to roll over to the wife's side and look. That and the old one didn't light up so at night you didn't see anything except the projection on the ceiling(another reason the little guy wanted it).. I'm just hoping this one isn't too bright! Says it's here so I guess it's in the mailbox, I'll have to have the little guy go get the mail..

All set, looks cool, I manually set it but then tried to pick up a reading off of the WWVB but it didn't do anything, except go blank. I'm hoping it doesn't do that every night it try's to search, if so I'm going to have to turn that part off. Other then that I like it, now just have to see how bright it is at night considering my eyes are sensitive to light and I'll be sleeping like  , it has a low setting but at day it's a little low..
