Some paracord projects i’ve done.

There's a lot of great stuff there! Is that rifle a Chiappa Little Badger? And what is behind the trigger?

Thanks PIOT!

Yep, that’s a Chiappa Little Badger. It had no picitinny rails so I repurposed a Tapco gas tube cover for a SKS on the top of the barrel so I could mount an optic and made a bottom foregrip from a piece of sectioned plastic pipe. Behind the trigger I mounted a small section of Pic rail to fashion a grip as they are absent on these little rifles. I added some rail covers (I believe they are UTG brand) to make it a more comfortable grip. Very nice in the hand now. There is a rail cast into the rifle in that spot but it isn’t picitinny or Weaver and accepts no conventional grips so I rigged up my own. I also relieved a bit of material from the bottom of the lever that opens the chamber and made a slot in the bottom of my homemade foregrip so that it folds as small as possible. There is a loop of paracord that secures the rifle when folded. I had an old shotgun buttcuff that was fraying so I cut and glued it to form a more comfortable cheek rest that also boasts some storage space inside basically forming two pockets as well as three of the shell loops on the outside. I’ve drilled out the peep site to a larger diameter and filed down the front site and added a piece of fibre optic tube to the top of the post. Finally, I whipped the barrel with paracord and wove around the butt and grip.

 :pok: :pok:

I bought the black G10 scales last year, intending them to be installed on one of my dad's SAKs for Christmas, but didn't get around to it in time.  I received the bodensee blue G10 and armee geen alox scales earlier this year, so I installed the alox scales on my dad's Victorinox Huntsman for him, the blue G10 on a Spartan, and the black on a Climber.

I had purchased some Firefly firesteels to go in place of the toothpicks, but they are either too loose a fit in the SAKs I have or too tight, so much so that one is stuck in the blue G10, and all efforts to get it back out short of removing the scale have been unsuccessful, so I just left it there in case I ever do need it, then I'll figure on removing the JB Weld secured scale...

They look great! Sorry to hear about the Firefly problem.

Have you tried insert the tip of the tweezers between the scale and Firefly? They should be the same width. Then use them as a pry bar, pushing them with something along the scales, while keeping the tweezers upright.

The firesteel is such a tight fit that not even the thin half of one side of the tweezers will fit to move it.  The glow in the dark tip of the firesteel broke off in my removal attempts, and I stopped trying to keep from damaging the G10 around the slot...

Wow! They need some better QC before shipping these out. Better check the size of every Firefly against a toothpick or tweezers, before inserting them in a SAK.

Any of you know of a decent wrap for a walking stick?
Got an Ironwood Brazos Walking Stick from Texas, and it gets a bit slippery to hang onto. Have 25 feet of 3/16" paracord and wanting something to be a bit more grippier when my hands are sweaty or after I just washed them. Don't need a loop, got a leather one of those.

I was asked to make some new lanyards with type one cord loops so as to fit knives with small lanyard holes.

Something I discovered in YouTube. I tried it and it works fine. I'm thinking about trying some variations. I'll let you know when/if I do.

For anyone wanting to do the same, a little tip: when taking the single strand out in the middle, use another strand to tie it and prevent it from going back inside the paracord sleeve. Awlso, when removing the inner strands, pull some from one side and others from the other side. It ensures the strand you leave inside is spread throughout the entire paracord sleeve (specially important if your making a double loop, like I did).

Here's the tutorial:

Ranger bead knots as pace counters work really well. Also a useful way to use up small scraps of cord!

Thank you! I have at least another three sets to make yet...lots of cord I want to use up. I'll have to see just how small a scrap I can use.
