Old Denmark Tool & Die knife
on: December 28, 2011, 08:35:04 PM
my father (who usually mocks my "obsession" with sharp objects) gave me a cool knife today. This belonged to my great grandfather, and that is all I know about it. The side says "DENMARK KNIFE & TOOL CO. Phone Redford 5700" The pictures are to try to show how it opens. in the open position, it is locked, not that I feel it is necessary for a tool of this size. The blade is only 1.5 inches long. If anyone has info on this knife or others like it, that would be awesome.

They're flip knives; the writing on the scale is just one example of many logo and advertisement runs done on those knives.  I have a couple of them in different sizes. :)

Neat! I've seen them for sale before, but never handled one. :) So was it made by DENMARK KNIFE & TOOL, or are they just the company being advertised?
In order to be certain of having the right tool for every job.........one must first acquire a lot of tools

The blade is REALLY thin(half the thickness of my micra blade), so it is really only useful for very light use. I think this one will make a nice letter opener if nothing else.

A. G. Russell sells one. They even admit that it's based on old advertising knives. It's a cool design. http://www.agrussell.com/ag-russell-funny-folder-aluminum-and-aus-8/p/RUShhhFF3AL/
