Looking forward to this. Hope it works well.   :2tu:

Also, are you doing 84mm mods again or was this a special order?

I dont keep any 84mm parts any more, the fellow sent me a bantam and scissors to combine, so it was just an assemble job.
What spring do you use for the scissors layer of the 84mm? TIA

Good question.

Would love a Red shield Black Cadet with some scissors.

The whole layer is from the 84mm cellidor saks like the small climber.

Those are 93mm right?

It wouldn't be the internet without people complaining.

Well my measurements were accurate, BUT, the blade has alot of wiggle at the tip still.  Probably 1 cm, which is way too much for me.  Of course having tried this though I see a number of ways to improve the concept.

So lets call this ver 1 design and with this version I was trying to be a bit lazy and not have to modify the blades at all.. but thats not going to be the perfect setup so I think I will just re-design it to lock onto a flat back end instead of curved, and have the top bit key into the blade.  That will be a much more aggressive lock.

If I tell the waterjet guy I goofed on design maybe he could fit me in again quickly and have some mercy on cost.  :D

Sorry to hear you're not happy with it. :-\ I'm guessing that should have been 1 mm wiggle, not 1 cm.

I was brainstorming liner lock liners for 93mm SAKs awhile ago with SAK enthusiast Ana from Spain.

http://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,34772.msg842209.html#msg842209

I did finally come up with a design I was happy to gamble a test run of parts on and the parts should be back from waterjet next week.  This is the design I ended up with as a test.  I only committed one square foot of 0.050" Ti for this, as I didnt want to cut more than that without some more testing.

If my design is correct I should only have to bevel the SAK blade pivot area just a small amount to allow the liner lock to move onto the blade and lock up.  The liner only needs to be bent and then heated gently to reset the metal's internal stresses and it should be good to go.

(Image removed from quote.)

Once you got the liner lock sorted out, applying it to the frame is the logical next step  :salute:

Yup that's the idea.

You'll still be able to use them as liners right?

I'm not sure what I can do with them now, but I will figure something out.  :D  I wasted more getting those G10 liners cut that I will never use, so I'll factor this into the R&D budget.

I am thinking I may have to add Syph to The List.

My mind is reeling with all the different options for the custom I would like built.

Guess I would have to share the spot between Syph and Victorinox.

As of right now, it's out for delivery, but it's going to my home address, so I won't get it until after work.  That means no good pics until Monday, as work is where I take them all.  Plus I won't have access to a computer all weekend as we'll be gone, so only Tapatalk, which doesn't seem to like my cell pics
