Test fit up of a liner lock with a 111mm rescue blade.  :D  Lock works fantastic, no flex in the lock tab at all and it is rock solid.

The rescue blade needed ALOT of treaking to fit on a 93mm frame, but  I saved all the teeth and modified a solo spring so that the end of the rescue blade rests on it.   :tu:

Looks great so far!

One question. Why did you make the lock engage left instead of right?

Yep it can go on either side, but in this case it is to minimize thickness.

The tab seems flush with the scale, leaving little room for the thumb?

The nubs are above the scale and that part work great.  I didnt want a big tab sticking up.   Once this is together i will do a video to show how it works.

It looks good :tu: Personally, I'd make the nubs just a bit higher and maybe add a little texture.

My hands get awfully sweaty at times, that's why I obsess so much  ;)

Sorry this SAK build will be going home to the SAK motherland! :D

The liner lock is working well thankfully!  I really didnt want to have to fund a ver 3 without having any success!

Yet another 91 with no corkscrew... my stats are still showing people prefer backside phillips!

Purple Ti, red alox and brass tweezer tip.

This is a fisherman + metal saw layer.  Not sure it has a name...

I have always wondered why Victorinox never made their 91mm knives with flush backsprings, just like Wenger 85mm knives? All it would take is designing the springs so they lie flush with the liners/scales, rather than having the uneven look they currently have. It would make for a more aesthetically appealing knife IMO, and also a knife that is more pleasant in the hand, especially when applying force vertically.
Do you have any insight into why?

Here are a few more pictures of the beautiful Swiss Army Knife, that Syph007 has very generously sent to me.

The tool layout is that of the now discontinued "Troubleshooter", minus the tweezers and tooth pick.

I wanted an engineering themed set of tools, rather than the outdoors/picnicy feel of the saw and corkscrew. I know the can opener doesn't really suit, but it has a useful screwdriver on it, plus there's not really any other option. The 4mm bit driver would have made sense to add, but it's massively bulky and I love the fact that this SAK has no plastic parts at all.

Pictures of most of my work can be found on my Facebook Page.
Also have a look at my Shapeways Shop and SW Torch Shop for 3D printed items.
