C-130 plane crash in Norway.

2 days ago a Norwegian C-130J Hercules crashed in the mountains in Sweden

http://www.usnews.com/news/world/articles/2012/03/15/norway-military-plane-feared-crashed-with-5-aboard
They have found pieces of wreckage no bigger than a piece of A4 paper and body parts so the crew where most likely killed. The freaky part about this is that a good friend of mine was in Sweden waiting to be picked up by this plane, a former co-worker works at the base where the Hercules are stationed so he knew the crew very well and I knew the female officer since we worked at the same base when I was in the military. Please give some thoughts for the family of the crewmembers.

That's an awful lot of plane to go down. You rarely hear of a C130 coming down the hard way despite there being so many of them in service around the world. Flying on a Herc is often considered one of the safest jobs in the air because of their reliability record.
Sorry to hear about this buddy.

True that it’s really rare that a Herc go downs but God only knows what happened until they find the black box, they crashed right into a mountain and blew up so I really don’t know what went wrong. But I am really just glad that they crashed before they picked up my buddy and his company and not on the way back.

Here's hoping families and friends get through this... and the black box gets found and can give some sense of closure. This crash is a big deal in Norway, which can both help those left behind and be a burden...

Thoughts and prayers Kenneth. Hard news indeed. It's terrible when any plane goes down, but to hit a mountain like that, it's just mystifying.
