Using the tin opener on my Detective (rare use). The metal is so thin that once you’ve pierced the lid, it’s easy to just push the opener around in a slicing motion to cut the metal.  Making ‘Potjie’ on an open fire.

JM Smith, nice.

Is it still .45 or do you guys over there convert it to Kilometers or whatever it is on that side of the world?

9 mm. Pretty much the best game in town. 8 vs 6 gives quite an advantage in IPSC. After seriously banging my head against that wall with a GP100 I should know ;)

Now that is one hell of good question we should ask my wife I believe

Seriously though - she tends to put iron on the ironing board while it’s hot all the time while she changes the position of the short or whatever - I believe it gets gunky right at that moment. Tried to convince her to stop doing so, but it’s easier for me to just clean the iron every now and then

Sharpening a new pencil for the kiddo. A regular occurrence for the Explorer. He asked his mom if he could sharpen it and she said he needs to find the pencil sharpener. His reply was “no mommy daddy has a knife.”  This kids gonna be carrying a SAK before I know it.

Used the metal file in the SwissChamp to saw in half a bicycle seat post screw that was damaged and impossible to unscrew, even with the help of strong pliers. Then we put a new screw, problem solved. No picture of the damaged screw, sorry.

It was in a local community project where we teach children and adults to ride bicycles one day per month.

The SwissBuck opened the surprise box of goodies.

Now time to choose my goodies.

If anyone wants to get in line next (sorry US only due to cost of shipping),  here is the thread https://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,90040.new.html#new

I used the awl from my Super Tinker to open the wrapper on some Clorox wipes. Also the main blade from ST to open some boxes. On my Spirit, scissors to open a rug wrapper and the package opener to slice open an Amazon box.
I knew my wife was a keeper when she transitioned from calling it a knife thingy to a multi-tool.

I used my SAK on this. A friend of mine came with this and asked if I needed it. I took a quick look and believe it's a Mountaineer (at first I thought it was an grand prix but I did some more reading) and offered to get it user ready for him instead and took it home with me. It was dirty and the tools would not open, but a quick first wash and I could pry open the tools using my edc SAK.

I will keep cleaning it, sharpening the blades and give it a new toothpick before I give it back. It need a lot more love and cleaning for the tools to get their snap back. I will keep the original solid scales

Absolutely not, I have heard about it but never tried it my self..

It's now cleaned, dry, oiled, sharpened and works almost as it supposed to. Some springs are a bit weak but for a user state it's good enough. Just have to add a toothpick and he will have it back.

At first I almost thought I would have to take it apart, there was a lot of metal dust in it but I think I manage to get most of it out and other than the big blade having a weak snap and the can opener to not flow as gently as I wanted it to there is nothing to complain about and I think he will be happy to get it back.  :climber:

Yes, it's a Mountaineer. A Grand Prix would have a Phillips in the back layer. Nice job getting it ready for service again! :tu:
