I used the parcel hook on my Live to Explore Australia knife to pull up the drain cover in the shower so it could be cleaned.  The hook worked like it was made for the job.

Welcome aboard, nice use, I had to do the same thing today but I didn’t have the sak so I used scissors, but now I’ll have to try the hook next time.. :tu:

Good work fella.

If you want to get badges on the site, there is one for "hook user".  That would need a photo to be posted of the hook in use.

Like many tools that aren't very popular, it is actually good for quite a number of things if you have the presence of mind to think of using it. Clearly you have the right outlook!

Went to a pastry shop with the family to get something sweet. We decided to eat there so the cake was served on plates. Me and the wife ate ours, but the kid ate about a third of his and said he wants to finish the rest later at home. I don't like buying those styrofoam boxes they give you to take the cake home. Luckily, the kid just finished a bottle of water. Took a Pioneer Settler out of my pocket (I'll admit - I went through SakWiki to find out the name of that one  :D) and sliced the bottle with the small blade to make a diy package, for free. Pretty proud of myself but forgot to take a pic  :multi:

:hatsoff: However, I will never eat turkey again. Blasphemy, I know, but it puts me out like a light for a few hours. Maybe there's something else I could use turkey brine for.

After the huge Thanksgiving lunch, I decided to take a walk.  I needed to burn some of those calories.  I had TWO grilled cheese sandwiches and a few cookies.  Boy, was I stuffed.  I looked through my supplies and thought I might have some soup instead of the grilled cheese.  Thought I might find some of that soup that only poor people eat.  Or Indians.  I didn't make that up.  It was in the news.  I did find one big can, but that might not have been the type that had 3D printed chicken in it.  I had the last small can a week ago, maybe.  Tomato.  Made with simulated 3D printed tomatoes no doubt.
I took along some tools and a GAK.  Never can tell when you might need to whack something down or clear limbs out of the driveway.  I watched the muddy spots for tracks.  No bear tracks, but I did see a nice clear bobcat track.  Along with some other mixed furbearing varmints.  The wind was whipping around and freezing everything it touched.  Brrrrr.
Best wishes,
Gary

That is so true. I've had to drag good-sized tree limbs out of the street after storms rolled through.

I did...but no turkey for me. That's probably a good thing, as I think even my Opinel No. 12 would struggle with turkey.

Aerocrafted Sideslip:

A brilliant piece of design and engineering. Just two parts, one of titanium and one of bronze. Extremely small, light and thin and there's nothing that can really go wrong with it.

It wasn't cheap, but it's a "forever EDC" for me. For what I want, I just don't think there is ever going to be anything that is better. I use it multiple times every day. Unless I lose it, it will last longer than I will.

Poked a new hole in the belt. I was on a pretty strict diet during the summer, medically imposed. Since that is over I've been a bit too loose with the snacking and my belly can confirm  :D

That seems like a OHT. Pull/push the yellow strip back/forward and the blade just slides, right? Very cool looking.

Yep that's right. Comes in right-handed and left-handed versions. No screws or other parts to work loose, just two cleverly machined pieces of metal that fit together perfectly.

Oh, I love it. It feels so much better built than any of the other multi tools.
But I like to cut my nails pretty short and a day or two after that I find it hard to open the tools on it. Then they grow tiny bit and it really helps.
