Kershaw's Blades Chipping
on: March 14, 2008, 09:26:38 PM
I have four kershaw knives now. And on the one that I use daily (the red scallion with a serrated blade) the blade has two or three big chips in it.

I dont use it for cutting more than those plastic straps that come around some products at the store where I work. I dont use it for heavy duty stuff.

Could this be something that I could get the knife's warranty in on?

It sounds as if in might be over tempered, and as such, would be a manufacturing defect :)
Give in, buy several Farmer's!!!!!!

By plastic straps do you mean zip ties or the twist ties with metal inside them? Post a picture of your chips so we have a clearer idea.

THat is rather strange.  I have a lot of kershaw knives and I have never had a problem with blade chipping.

I too have seen a lot of Kershaw knives; one thing you can't call them is crappy. Or chippy I guess.
I would definitely at least call Kershaw and ask them about it...I've heard they have excellent C.S.
