Anyone play darts?

I was thinking about this last night when I was using my wave to hang on a new dartboard at the bar for one of my dart leagues.

So, does anyone here throw darts? In a league, or just for fun.

I used to play in pubs, years ago....

Yea, I have a few sets myself. A few really nice sets, and some garbage ones I lend out.

I used to be really big into darts, just a small league at a local mexican restaurant, I still play in my rec room, my son is now into it. I have a couple sets of Harrows, Power Points and Black Max.They used to show the dart tournaments on ESPN2 but have not seen it in awhile, I did not realize how fast a pro game goes.

Major pastime here in the 80's. Still fairly popular. The beauty of darts is that in any given game, anyone can win or lose. No matter your skill, there's always a chance to win. Tip: sharpen your darts with a grooved fish hook sharpener.

My folks have some nice steel tips with feathers, but are still packed and haven't seen them in a while. My dad used to hit triple bulls eyes all the time, the stinker.

When living up in the mountains the local pubs went soft dart, so found a good weight that I preferred and bought a set of Banshee tungsten barrels. Prefer the shorter vanes myself, but my dad was a shark with fat vaned feathers.

For fun occasionally, not very good at all though. Almost every time I play I somehow am one dart less than when I started

Tell me about it... I play in a Tuesday night A division with some of the best people in the area, and I've seen them lose matches to people who haven't played more than 5 times. It's crazy. Anything can happen.

My grandfather used to have a huge board in the basement and I used to just toss them I had no clue as to how or what, I used to even stand back like 10ft, yet when I went to college my cousin and his father were dart players, had a nice board with special wooden darts, and one day I grabbed a couple and stood back again like 10ft and started just having fun, then my cousin was like what the heck are you doing? No no no, you don’t stand that far back, I don’t? No, stand at the line, I was like but that’s so close, yeah now hit the points, so after that him and I would play, idk what but I wasn’t too bad since I could just about reach the board since I was used to standing back so far..
